This Refund and Cancellation Policy outlines the terms for cancellations and refunds for
bookings made through myafribnb.com. Our goal is to ensure fairness and transparency for
both Guests and Hosts. This policy applies to all bookings unless otherwise specified in the
listing or agreed upon in writing between the Guest and Host.
- Guest Cancellation Policy
Guests may cancel their booking at any time, subject to the cancellation policy selected by the
Host for the specific listing. myafribnb.com offers three cancellation policy options for Hosts to
choose from: Flexible, Moderate, and Strict. The selected policy will be displayed on the listing
page and in the booking confirmation.
1.1 Flexible Cancellation Policy
- Full Refund: Guests receive a full refund of the accommodation fees if they cancel at
least 24 hours before the check-in time (local time of the property). - Partial Refund: If canceled less than 24 hours before check-in, no refund is provided for
the accommodation fees, but the cleaning fee (if applicable) is refunded. - Service Fees: myafribnb.com service fees are refunded if the cancellation occurs within
48 hours of booking and at least 24 hours before check-in. Otherwise, service fees are
non-refundable.
1.2 Moderate Cancellation Policy - Full Refund: Guests receive a full refund of the accommodation fees if they cancel at
least 5 days before the check-in time. - Partial Refund: If canceled less than 5 days before check-in, no refund is provided for the
accommodation fees, but the cleaning fee (if applicable) is refunded. - Service Fees: myafribnb.com service fees are refunded if the cancellation occurs within
48 hours of booking and at least 5 days before check-in. Otherwise, service fees are non-
refundable.
1.3 Strict Cancellation Policy
- Full Refund: Guests receive a full refund of the accommodation fees if they cancel at
least 7 days before the check-in time. - Partial Refund: If canceled less than 7 days before check-in, no refund is provided for the
accommodation fees, but the cleaning fee (if applicable) is refunded. - Service Fees: myafribnb.com service fees are refunded if the cancellation occurs within
48 hours of booking and at least 7 days before check-in. Otherwise, service fees are non-
refundable.
1.4 Long-Term Stays (28 Days or More)
For bookings of 28 days or more, the following applies:
- Guests may cancel at least 30 days before check-in for a full refund of accommodation
fees, excluding the first 30 days, which are non-refundable. - If canceled less than 30 days before check-in, no refund is provided for the
accommodation fees. - Cleaning fees (if applicable) are refunded if the cancellation occurs before check-in.
- After check-in, Guests must provide 30 daysβ notice to cancel the remainder of the
booking. No refund is provided for the first 30 days after the cancellation notice.
- Host Cancellation Policy
Hosts are expected to honor confirmed bookings. However, if a Host must cancel a booking, the
following applies:
- Guest Refund: Guests receive a full refund of all accommodation fees, cleaning fees, and
myafribnb.com service fees. - Host Penalties: Hosts may incur penalties, including:
o A cancellation fee charged by myafribnb.com.
o Temporary suspension of the listing or account, depending on the frequency of
cancellations.
o Loss of eligibility for certain Host benefits (e.g., Superhost status, if applicable). - Guest Support: myafribnb.com will assist Guests in finding alternative accommodations
or provide a full refund if no suitable options are available.
- Extenuating Circumstances
In cases of extenuating circumstances (e.g., serious illness, natural disasters, government travel
restrictions), Guests and Hosts may be eligible for a refund or cancellation without penalties,
subject to review. To qualify:
- Guests or Hosts must submit a request with supporting documentation (e.g., medical
records, official notices) within 14 days of the cancellation. - myafribnb.com will review the request and determine eligibility based on the
Extenuating Circumstances Policy, available on our website.
- Refunds for Non-Accommodation Services
For experiences or activities booked through myafribnb.com:
- Full Refund: Available if canceled at least 24 hours before the scheduled start time.
- No Refund: If canceled less than 24 hours before the start time or in case of a no-show.
- Extenuating Circumstances: Refunds may be issued under the Extenuating
Circumstances Policy with proper documentation.
- Refund Process
- Refunds are processed within 5β10 business days after the cancellation is confirmed.
- Refunds are issued to the original payment method used for the booking.
- If the original payment method is unavailable, myafribnb.com may issue a credit for
future bookings or an alternative payment method.
- Modifications to Bookings
- Guests may request modifications to their booking (e.g., dates, number of guests)
through myafribnb.com. Modifications are subject to Host approval and availability. - If a modification results in a price change, the Guest will be charged or refunded the
difference. - If a modification is not possible and the Guest cancels, the applicable cancellation policy
will apply.
- Host Responsibilities
Hosts must clearly disclose their chosen cancellation policy on their listing. Failure to honor the
stated policy may result in penalties, including removal of the listing or account suspension. - Contact Us
